E TE IWI TĒNA TĀTOU

E mihi ana ki a tātou i runga i ngā āhuatanga o te wā ano.  E whakaarohia ana rātou ngā tūoro me te tono ki te Atua kia manaakitia rātou me ō rātou whānau i tēnei wā, ā, haere nei te wā.  Ka mihia hoki koutou kei te mua o te ahi, kei ngā kaimirimiri i te ngākau marū, tēnā koutou katoa.

As again we batten down during these unprecedented times, we, nga uri ō Ngāti Hāua are preparing for whatever the immediate future holds for us all, for each other, ourselves and our mokopuna.  We do this alongside our Iwi whānaunga of Whanganui, Tūwharetoa, Maniapoto and all of our Marae in our Rohe including our whānaunga tautoko in Te Ranga Tupua (Whanganui nui tonu, Ngā Rauru kī Tahi, Ngāti Apa-Ngā Wairiki and ngā Iwi o Mokai Patea).

Since the announcement on Tuesday, to go straight to Lockdown Level 4 at 11.59pm, we’ve regrouped with our Iwi Wānaunga to plan our response.  Now that it’s been extended we’re working with Agencies and Government Departments to try as best we can to action a co-ordinated response.  This variant is different whānau and far more contagious due to being airborne, thus the need to wear face masks when you have to leave your home.

We remain a resilient and resourceful people in times of challenge and will rise to this one.  Please whanau it is so important to practice and follow the guidelines from the DHB.

Our Kai Manaaki have been connecting with our local whānau to make sure you are informed, safe and supported.  Our Kai Manaaki will also be asking if your vaccinated and if not, will support you, as directed by you.

As well, whānau will be contacted through our databases and whanau networks.  If you haven’t been contacted, it will mean that we do not have your correct contact details or most up-to-date ones.  Please whanau contact these numbers or send us an email to update your details.  We are here to tautoko you during this time.
